Common Coffee
Bold
A bold, chocolatey Brazilian — the kind of cup that doesn't need explaining. Bold is built around Daterra's natural lot from the Cerrado, picked across 560 micro-sectors and processed at one of the most quietly radical farms in coffee.
The producer — Daterra, Cerrado
Daterra spans three farms — Boa Vista, Tabuões and Franca — and runs as 560 individual micro-sectors, each with its own agronomist tracking soil, sun and ripeness. They were the first farm in Brazil to earn sustainability certification and the world's first B-Corp certified coffee farm, with 3,500 hectares set aside as protected forest. Carbon negative. Most of their kit — including the UNIPAC water-pulping system — they engineered themselves.
The lot — Daterra Natural
Grown between 910 and 1,220m, processed as a natural. Cherries are picked ripe, sorted by maturation and dried whole on raised beds and patios — sweet, even, and built for body. Classic Brazilian comfort, properly done.
How to drink it
- Espresso — best showcase. Pulls thick and syrupy, full of dark chocolate and roasted almond.
- With milk — made for it. Leans into hazelnut and cocoa, no sharp edges.
- Filter / Cafetière — heavy and comforting, more cocoa than fruit.
